To impart the Word of God to all ages in ways that edify To flow in body ministry where all are encouraged to serve the Lord and one another. To play our part in the national and world-wide mission of the churchOur Statement of Purpose
To worship God To personally & corporately grow to maturity in Christ To win the lost for ChristOur Statement of faith
Kilkenny Community Church accept the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice, and adopt the following statement of fundamental truths:
WE BELIEVE the Bible (that is the Old and New Testaments) to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God and that it is the all-sufficient rule for faith and conduct.
WE BELIEVE in the unity of the one true and living God, eternally existent and revealed in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the eternal deity and the true humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous ministry, death upon the Cross, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, abiding intercession, and His personal and bodily future return for the Church.
WE BELIEVE that man was created good, but fell into sin, which has resulted in death upon all mankind, and that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the blood of Christ.
WE BELIEVE that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
WE BELIEVE that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human
bodyand deliverance from demonic bondage in answer to believing prayer.
WE BELIEVE that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, are available to believers who ask for them.
WE BELIEVE in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
WE BELIEVE in the unity of the body of Christ, the Church, being all of those who have been born again by the Holy Spirit, and in the offices and ministries as set by God in the Church and revealed in the New Testament.
WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
WE BELIEVE in baptism of believers by full immersion in water, following evidence of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and repentance from sin, as a necessary public declaration of new life.
WE BELIEVE in the Lord’s Supper or breaking of bread, regularly observed, as a remembrance of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ and a symbol of God’s covenant.
A brief history
Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, as it was formerly called, was started in October 1987 in Danny and Margaret Keating’s home. As the church grew it moved to various locations around the city as the need arose. Since 22 April 2011, we have a permanent place for what is now called Kilkenny Community Church at 17 Irishtown, Kilkenny (Near Watergate Theatre and Brewery).
Eamon and Amanda Burke took over the role of pastoring from Danny and Margaret in 1998; and in 2009 after 11 years Eamon and Amanda felt to lay down the leadership of the church. Long standing members John Nulty and Andy Guilfoyle then took over the leadership.
Kilkenny Community Church, Kilkenny, Ireland is part of a network of Churches in the U.K. and Ireland called the Plumbline Family of Churches. We are also affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance Ireland.
Kilkenny Community Church is a registered charity, Registration Number : CHY 9811
