our history
Kilkenny Community Church
Abundant Life Christian Fellowship, as it was formerly called, was started in October 1987 in Danny and Margaret Keating’s home. The church began to flourish, meeting regularly and growing each week. Over the years the church had to move to accommodate more members, settling in the Bridge Centre for 13 years.
In 1997, church leadership was handed to Eamon and Amanda Burke, with Pat and Rachel O’Connell standing in whilst the Burke family moved over to Kilkenny.
In 2009 Kilkenny Community church saw a leadership change, with John Nulty & Andy Guilfoyle stepping in as Co Pastor’s. They Co pastored together for 10 years from 2009 till 2019. John served as the senior pastor for the first 5 years, and Andy as the senior for the second 5 years, with both John’s wife Jean and Andy’s wife Patience serving alongside them. In 2019 John retired from his role, but still serves the church as an Elder & Trustees.
Since 22 April 2011, we have a permanent place for what is now called Kilkenny Community Church at 17 Irishtown.
